Assessment of Badlands Erosion Dynamics in the Adriatic Side of Central Italy

Badlands are unique soil erosion landforms distributed in numerous geological, geomorphological, and climate contexts several Mediterranean countries. The aim of this study was to map, classify, analyze the temporal evolution badlands that crop out between Tesino Tronto Rivers Marche region, Central Apennines (Italy). In study, 328 were mapped through Google Earth, orthophoto analysis (year 2016), field surveys. Moreover, classified from a morphological point view based on active processes detected field. Additionally, studied lithological view, meaning they strictly related soft sedimentary formations area. Subsequently, 10 × m DEM, most significant morphometric indices extrapolated classified. Finally, orthophotos 1988, another dataset created area each landform compared with respect 2016. multi-temporal air photo analysis, combined NDVI results, identified general reduction trend areas, increases green cover dense vegetation changes morphotypes.
